So....have I said that I'm old fashion? If not, I am. I don't get twitter, facebook, snapchat, any of those forms of communities. I guess initially the idea of it was, we'll say, interesting. However, my feelings are that they have become completely over used. They have infected the populace like a cancer. There are plenty of things out there that are basically, TMI. I guess for certain things I can see the advantage but overall? Not so much. It seems that so many people have become so self absorb and worried about hashtag this and hashtag that and selfie here and selfie there. It seems as though they are forgetting to look up, look out, look around. Actually see the life they are living. We need to challenge ourselves to live our best lives not document it with a cell phone for a #. But, that's just me.
So as Frederick Engel said "It cannot see the wood for the trees" (Engels, 1875, p. 47). Let's go see if we can find some wood. :-)

So I guess I didn't completely follow directions for project correctly. The previous post was for the thing 2 lesson. Uploading photos has been something I've been doing for a while so the lesson was pretty easy however.... posting to the classroom etc has been my downfall. It appears these things are something I am struggling with. Persevere .... old dog, new tricks... eventually I'll get the hang of this
Good Morning, I have to say I'm an antique buff. I love old stuff, especially old books. Here in our library we actually have an archive room (I know, amazing right???). Over the years, the library has collected a wealth of books, documents, magazines etc. pertaining to Saratoga (I just get giddy talking about it). We also have a beautiful display case that has sat empty more often than not. My coworker and I finally decided, at the beginning of this year, that we would make an effort to keep displays going all year. So far??? Success! I just wanted to share our newest display because I love old books and I love Saratoga and all it's history. If you look closely at some of the pictures you'll see, they're really old!
Every year, my coworkers and I work hard attempting to be creative and inspired for our annual door decorating contest. We try to create something that will amuse and entertain them. We try to show the students that with a little imagination, hard work and simple supplies, you can do wonderful things. My photos are not the best as lighting was a struggle but hopefully you can get the idea.
So, I work in a High School library. There, I've said it and just to be clear, I love it. I am new to this whole new endeavor and therefore I am sure I will stumble each and every day. My age? Not withstanding, is greater than the norm and does create some hazards along the way. My hope is that patience will be granted in buckets and smiles will be had all around. My intent is to forever exercise my slowly decreasing brain and push the boundaries of my will to comprehend. With that said, I endeavor to push forward and hope that I do not bore those that choose to look into my world.
My first official attempt to post a blog. I will hopefully keep tabs on our golfing throughout the season. This was one highlight from July 2017. My daughter making it to the Girls Junior PGA Championship in St. Albans, MO.
